Transferring a domain away from Dotweb
Get your authorization code and move a domain to another registrar.
På den här sidan
Your domain is yours, so you can move it to another registrar whenever you want. Here is how to get what you need.
Get your authorization code
The new registrar will ask for your authorization code, also called the EPP code or auth code.
- Sign in to the client area (öppnas i en ny flik) and open Products & Services.
- Open the domain you want to move.
- Request its authorization code from the domain’s page, and copy it.
.uk domains
A .uk domain doesn’t use an authorization code. To move one, contact support and we will help you.
Make sure the domain can move
- The domain must be unlocked. Unlock it from the domain’s page under Products & Services, or ask our support team to unlock it for you.
- Give the authorization code to your new registrar and follow their transfer steps.
- Approve the transfer if either registrar emails you to confirm it.
Newly registered or transferred domains
Most registries don’t allow a domain to move within 60 days of being registered or transferred. If your domain is very new, you may need to wait before it can leave.
While the transfer runs
Your domain keeps working during the move, and your website and email stay online. The transfer completes on the new registrar’s side, usually within a few days.
