1. About these terms

These terms of service (“terms”) are an agreement between you and Dotweb Solutions AB, organization number 559560-0320, Fredrika Bremersgatan 16, 754 42 Uppsala, Sweden (“Dotweb”, “we”, “us”). Our VAT number is SE559560032001.

By placing an order, creating an account in the client area or using our services, you accept these terms. If you use the services on behalf of a company or another organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization.

You must be at least 18 years old and have full legal capacity to purchase our services.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the mandatory consumer protection rights that apply in your country of residence.

Dotweb Solutions AB also operates the agency site https://dotweb.solutions. These terms cover the services offered at https://dotweb.io.

2. Our services

Dotweb provides domain name registration, transfer and renewal, web hosting, WordPress hosting, managed VPS and related support services.

Website builder plans can’t be ordered yet. The parts of these terms that refer to them apply once the website builder launches.

The features, limits and prices of each service are described on our website at the time of ordering. We develop our services continuously and may add, change or retire features, provided that the core of a service you have already paid for is not materially reduced during a paid period.

Our support team is available 24/7 by email at support@dotweb.io and by support ticket in the client area.

3. Your account and the client area

You order through our checkout at https://checkout.dotweb.io. Your account, services, invoices, payment methods and support tickets are in the client area at https://my.dotweb.io. The checkout and the client area are run for us by our billing and client-area platform partner. Our website itself has no sign-in.

• You must provide accurate, current and complete information when you create your account or place an order, and keep it updated.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details for the client area confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account.
• Notify us immediately at support@dotweb.io if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Prices and payment

• Prices on our website are shown excluding VAT, in the currency you choose: EUR, SEK or USD. You are charged the price that applies when you place your order.
• VAT is added at checkout where it applies, based on your billing country.
• You pay when you order, and the payment is processed by our payment processor. Services are provisioned once payment is confirmed.
• Promotional prices apply to the first billing period only, unless stated otherwise. Renewals are charged at the regular price that applies at the time of renewal. Domain renewal prices are shown on our website.
• Your invoices are available in the client area.
• If a price on the website is obviously incorrect, we may cancel the affected order before delivery and refund any amount paid.

5. Renewals and cancellation

• Services renew automatically at the end of each billing period while auto-renew is on. You can turn auto-renew on or off for each service in the client area: open Products & Services, choose the service, open its Settings tab and press Turn off auto-renew (or Turn on auto-renew).
• With auto-renew off, the service runs until the end of the period you have paid for. To keep it after that, renew it manually: a manual renewal issues the next invoice, which you pay in the client area.
• To avoid being charged for a renewal, turn off auto-renew or cancel the service before it renews. A domain with auto-renew on and a payment method on file renews about two weeks before its expiry date.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid for a started period are not refunded, except as described in section 6.
• Domains that are not renewed expire. An expired domain may stop working immediately, may only be recoverable during a limited redemption period at an additional fee set by the registry, and is eventually released for registration by anyone.

6. Refunds and right of withdrawal

• 30-day money-back guarantee: web hosting and WordPress hosting plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first purchase of the plan. Contact support within 30 days of the purchase and we will refund the plan fee in full.
• The money-back guarantee does not cover managed VPS, website builder plans, or domain registrations, transfers and renewals.
• Domain registrations, transfers and renewals are non-refundable once they have been submitted to the registry. By placing a domain order you expressly request that we perform the service immediately and acknowledge that, once the registration is completed, the statutory right of withdrawal is lost.
• If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for other services. By ordering, you request that the service is provisioned immediately. If you withdraw after provisioning has begun, we may deduct a proportional amount for the period already provided. Once a service has been fully performed, the right of withdrawal no longer applies.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Statutory rights that cannot be waived remain unaffected.

7. Domain names

• We register and manage domains through accredited registrar partners. Every top-level domain is governed by the rules and eligibility requirements of its registry, which apply in addition to these terms.
• You must provide accurate and complete registrant contact details and keep them updated. Incorrect or outdated details can lead to suspension or cancellation of a domain by the registry.
• Some registries require identity validation before activating a domain, and some require additional information, for example a national identity number or a company registration number.
• A domain registration is only complete when it has been confirmed by the registry. If a registration cannot be completed, for example because the name was registered by someone else first, we will refund that order item.
• Domain transfers require a valid authorization code and are subject to registry transfer rules and lock periods.

8. Hosting and managed VPS

• You choose the server location for your hosting or managed VPS at checkout. Your website content and email are stored in that location.
• Free migration of an existing website is included with web hosting and WordPress hosting, but not with managed VPS. Some sites cannot be moved, for example sites on locked website builders.
• A managed VPS is usually ready about an hour after your order. A busier day or a more involved setup can take a few hours. We email you when it is ready.
• Your use of hosting resources is subject to the plan limits shown at purchase and to fair use. We may temporarily limit resource usage that degrades the platform for other customers.
• You are responsible for the content you host and publish, for keeping your own applications and their credentials secure, and for the legality of the material you store or distribute.
• Where a plan includes backups, they are provided as a convenience. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of important data.
• We may perform planned maintenance and will aim to schedule it so that disruption is minimized.

9. Acceptable use

You may not use our services to:

• Engage in or promote illegal activity, or store and distribute unlawful content.
• Infringe the intellectual property rights or privacy of others.
• Send spam or other unsolicited bulk communication.
• Distribute malware, run phishing sites, operate botnets or attempt unauthorized access to systems or data.
• Attack networks or services, or consume resources in a way that is intended to disturb the platform or other customers.

We may investigate suspected violations and take the measures described in section 11.

10. Your content and intellectual property

You keep all rights to the content you upload or host with us. You grant us the limited license needed to store, process, transmit and display that content, solely in order to provide the services.

The Dotweb platform, software, website content and trademarks remain the property of Dotweb or its licensors. You may not copy, modify or reuse them except as needed to use the services.

11. Suspension and termination

• We may suspend or restrict a service, and in serious or repeated cases terminate it, if you materially breach these terms, if payment is not received, if we are required to do so by law or by a competent authority, or if the service is used in a way that poses a risk to the platform, to us or to third parties.
• Where reasonable, we will notify you and give you an opportunity to fix the problem before we act.
• You can stop using a service at any time by turning off auto-renew or canceling it, as described in section 5. To close your account in the client area, contact us at support@dotweb.io.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including sections 10, 13 and 16, continue to apply.

12. Availability and disclaimers

We provide our services with reasonable skill and care and aim to keep them available around the clock. However, no online service can be guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not warrant uninterrupted availability.

Parts of our services depend on third parties, such as domain registries, payment networks and the partner that runs our checkout and client area, whose availability and decisions are outside our control.

13. Limitation of liability

• To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages such as loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill.
• Our total liability for claims relating to a service is limited to the fees you paid for that service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
• Nothing in these terms limits our liability for damage caused by intent or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

14. Indemnification

If you use the services in the course of a business, you will indemnify us against third-party claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from the content you host or from your use of the services in breach of these terms.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.

If a change is material and affects services you already pay for, we will notify you by email or in the client area at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you may cancel the affected service before the change takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer, you also enjoy the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.

If a dispute arises, please contact us first at support@dotweb.io and we will do our best to resolve it together with you.

• Consumers in Sweden can turn to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, https://www.arn.se.
• For business customers, disputes shall be settled by Swedish courts, with Uppsala District Court as the court of first instance.
